Ferrules

Description

ACL manufactures ferrules in accordance with the relevant British and European standards, as itemised in the detailed ferrule section. Pharmaceutical grade Ferrules are produced by machining from 316L stainless steel bar stock. To comply with customer specifications, we can produce from certified bar to, (but not limited to);

AD2000 W2

ASTM A 182/SA 479/SB 574 etc

PED 97/23/EC

The surface finish is equal to or more often better than those quoted in the relevant standards. Ferrules are also available with enhanced surface finish to 0.38 um Ra, this being achieved by electro polishing, (also providing a passivated layer to the ferrule).

3.1 Material certification is available online and all ferrules are laser marked with the material grade, mill heat number and the fitting size and type. A Declaration of conformity is issued as standard.

Ferrules can also be supplied as specials in a variety of non-standard materials such as special stainless steels, titanium, hastelloy, AL6XN etc.

As well as the extensive range of standard stock ferrules, we can supply customised ferrules to a wide range of requirements.

Features

Pharmaceutical grade: European Stainless Steel, manufactured in Europe by ACL, surface finish: 0.4Ra or better
Food & beverage grade: Global sourced steel, surface finish is 0.8Ra or better
Quality checks by ACL are at the highest level for fitting manufacturers: JS12 & JS13 tolerances are checked by scanning CMM and reported by SPC
Flatness of sealing face meets or exceeds guidelines
Circularity of components is within 0.1mm

Materials

Materials are AD2000 (PED) and ASME VIII
Surface finish is 0.8Ra um minimum
